6 JMB men held in Atrai
Police arrested six operatives of banned outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Atrai upazila of Naogaon district early yesterday on a murder charge.
The JMB men were arrested at several villages of the upazila in connection with the murder of an unidentified man, said Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Atrai Police Station.
The arrestees are Nurul Islalm, 41, Raja Mia, 41, Ekram Ali, 30, Siraj Uddin, 36, Jainul Haque, 40, and Kazi Abdul Hannan, 40.
Police said Hannan and Jainul were wanted in two murder case while the rest in kidnapping and other cases filed with Atrai Police Station.
Police found the beheaded body of an unidentified man at a place in Atrai upazila Friday afternoon. Police said the man might have been killed by the arrestees.
The OC said they yesterday submitted a petition to the court, seeking a five-day remand of the arrestees. Hearing on the remand petition will be held today, he added.
