Criminals kill two youths in Chuadanga

Two people were murdered in Jibonnagar and Damurhuda upazilas of Chuadanga yesterday. Police said one Sumon called Rubel Hossain,24, son of Abdul Khaleq of Kalabari village in Damurhuda upazila, out of his house at night and murdered him. On information, police recovered the body in the morning from nearby Gopalpur and sent it to hospital for autopsy. Sumon, who identified himself as the regional leader of Purbo Banglar Communist Party, over a phone call to a local newspaper office same night admitted the killing, saying that Rubel was killed for acting as informer of Rab and police. Officer in-Charge (OC) of Damurhuda PS Munshi Asaduzzaman, however, said Rubel was not their informer. In another incident, Alamgir Hossain, 25, son of Jamat Ali Mondol of Utholi village in Jibonnagar upazila, was murdered by criminals. Informed by locals, police recovered the body yesterday noon from the spot and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The reason behind the killing could not be known. Police said they have launched drives to arrest the killers.
