Tobacco godown gutted
A big business establishment was gutted and properties worth about Tk 8 lakh were damaged in a devastating fire at Mirganj Chowdhury Bazar in Jaldhaka upazila on Friday night. Two persons were also injured when locals rushed to douse the fire. Fire service sources said, one Habibur Rahman of the area rented his big godown to 'Sonali Bidi Company' of Haragachh in Rangpur district. At about 9.00pm, a devastating fire engulfed the godown originating from an electric short circuit. He also informed that in that godown there were about 5,000 maund of dried tobacco.
