Jewellery shop, houses looted
Robbers looted a jewellery shop, houses of an expatriate and a union parishad member on Monday.
A gang looted cash and gold ornaments worth around Tk 40 lakh from a jewellery shop in Siddhirganj Bazar in Narayanganj early Monday. Night guard of the bazar Abdul Motaleb said, a gang of 11/12 robbers entered Siraj Jewellers by breaking open the locks of its shutter at dead of night and looted valuables keeping Motaleb hostage at gun point.
In Sylhet, robbers looted gold ornaments and other valuables worth Tk 25 lakh from an expatriate's house at Noarai Dakkhinbhag village in Golapganj upazila early Monday. Sources said, an armed gang entered the house of UK expatriate Nazrul Islam when Nazrul and his family members were not at home.
In Brahmanbaria, another gang looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Tk 15 lakh from the house of UP member Liton Das at Lalpur village in Ashuganj upazila.
