Woman dies, 4 of family fall sick
A housewife died of food poisoning while four others of her family fell sick at village Shobhnali in Assassuni upazila on Eid day.
The deceased was identified as Sufia Khatun, 38, of village Shobhnali.
The other victims are Mujibar Rahman, 48, husband of Sufia and their three daughters Tanzila, 12, Shahida, 8, and Sharmin, 5. They were admitted to Assassuni health complex.
Quoting local people police said, the victims took dinner at about 9:30pm on the Eid day on Wednesday. They fell sick at dead of night and Sufia Khatun died without treatment.
Local people rescued the other victims and took them to Assassuni upazila health complex in the morning.
In Netrakona, police recovered the body of a housewife from her house in Fakirer Bazaar Saha Para area of Barhatta upazila on Saturday afternoon, reports UNB.
Victim Kalyani Saha, 25, mother of a child and wife of Anil Saha of the upazila, allegedly committed suicide.
