<i>Monkey brain</i>

A humanoid robot moves its legs at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR) laboratory in Seika town in Kyoto prefecture, western Japan on January 15, while being controled by signals from a monkey's brain on a treadmill from a laboratory in the US. ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories director Mitsuo Kawato (R) and US researchers have succedully conducted an experiment to control the humanoid robot by monkey's brain signal through the internet, its time lag is only 0.05sec.Photo: AFP
