50 hurt in 2 clashes
Around 50 people were injured as rival villagers clashed in Natore and Bagerhat over land dispute on Saturday.
At least 18 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups at Bhita Kazipur village in Boraigram upazila of Natore, reports our correspondent.
Police and locals said there was a longstanding dispute over a piece of 100 decimal land between Moidan Ali and Babar Ali of the village.
They said an altercation took place when Babar and his men went to cut paddy from the disputed land in the morning.
Within moments, both the groups, equipped with lethal weapons and sticks attacked each other, leaving 18 people from both sides injured in an hour-long clash.
In Bagerhat, at least 30 people, including two women, were injured in a clash between two rival groups over land dispute at Westpara Badamtola village in Chitalmari upazila Saturday morning, reports UNB.
Police and local people said, there was a longstanding dispute over a piece of land between Binoy Gain and Subhash Dhali of the village.
On Saturday, both the groups equipped with lethal weapons and sticks attacked each other, leaving at least 30 people from both sides injured.
