Woman strangled after rape, 2 teenage girls violated
A young woman was strangled after rape in Bogra on Tuesday while two teenage girls were violated in Thakurgaon and Nilphamari districts on Monday and the day before.
In Bogra, locals yesterday found the body of an unidentified young woman in a field at Kaichar village, about 7km off the town.
On information, police recovered the body from the open field. The woman, aged about 20, was wearing kameez while her dopatta was tied around the neck, reports UNB.
Police suspected that a gang brought the woman from far away, raped her at a shallow power pump hut and strangled her Tuesday night.
Bodies of two other young women were recovered from the same field of Kaichar village during the last one year. Police could neighter arrest the killers nor identity the victims.
In Thakurgaon, a girl, aged about 14, was raped allegedly by a young man at Baharampur-Paschimpara in Haripur upazila on Monday.
She is the daughter of day-labourer Nazrul Islam of the Baharampur.
Locals said, alleged rapist Aminul Haque, 30, son of Amzad Ali of the same village, forcibly took the girl to a stack of straw and raped her while returning home from work in the evening.
Hearing screams, people from the neighborhood rushed to the spot and rescued the victim. The rapist however managed to flee the scene.
Victim's mother Maleka Begum filed a case with Haripur PS under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
In Nilphamari, a teenage girl was raped by a young man at a village on Tuesday afternoon, reports our correspondent.
The victim was daughter of Shahidur Rahman of Batultari village under Sadar upazila and a student of class five at Jadur Hat Dakhil Madrasa.
Locals and police sources said, the incident took place when the victim was staying alone at the house as her parents went to Nilphamari 100 bed hospital to visit her ailing elder sister there.
They said alleged rapist Motaharul Islam, a father of two, entered the victim's house, forcibly took the girl to nearby jute field and raped her.
Hearing her screams, Swapan Mia, the brother-in-law of the victim along with two local women, rushed to the jute field and found the girl in unconscious state. The rapist however fled the scene.
