Orientation for UP chairmen
Local Governance Support Project-Learning and Innovation Component (GSP-LIC) organisd an orientation course on development project and financial management in the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office on May 19 and 20. Seventy-eight newly elected union parishad (UP) chairmen took part in the course that was inaugurated by Abdus Samad, deputy commissioner of Satkhira. Swapan Kumar Sarkar, director general of Local Government Division and National Project Director of LGSP-LIC, was the the chief guest. UNDP's local government advisor Dr Tofail Ahmed and Assistant Country Director Shaila Khan were present as resource persons.
