Abducted trader freed
Police rescued a kidnapped businessman and arrested three people in this connection from Moni Bazar area under Rajpara police station in the city Saturday night.
Quoting local sources, police said Monsur Rahman, a grocery businessman of Haripur area under Paba upazila, was kidnapped from RDA Market area and taken to an unknown destination on Saturday afternoon.
Later the kidnappers demanded Tk 3 lakh as ransom from his family members.
Police, afterwards, on a tip-off, raided the area and rescued Monsur and arrested three alleged kidnappers -- Ripon, Mustaque and Suman -- red-handed, said Imaul Haque, sub-inspector of Boalia police.
