Kidnapped young man murdered
After 40 days of kidnapping, police recovered the decomposed body of a youth from the bank of Gorai river at Jotbora village in Kumarkhali upazila Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sohel Rana, 22, son of Israil Sheikh of Sonda village in the upazila.
Police and family sources said criminals kidnapped Sohel on April 8 and demanded Tk 50,000 ransom from his family over phone.
Later, Sohel's father filed a case with Shailakupa PS in this connection. Police arrested Selim, an accused of the case.
According to his confession, police recovered the body dumped under the sand on the river bank.
