Two commit 'suicide'
Two teenage girls allegedly committed suicide in Kushtia and Nilphamari districts yesterday and on Monday.
A madrasa girl allegedly committed suicide by taking poison at Goneshpur village in Khoksa upazila of Kushtia yesterday, reports our correspondent.
The dead was identified as Samapti Khatun, 15, daughter of Belal Hossain.
Samapti was a student of Class X at Goneshpur Dakhil Madrasa.
According to police and family sources, Samapti had an affair with a boy of the same area. Family members came to know the matter and yesterday morning, Samapti's elder sister Rokeya rebuked her over the matter.
In Nilphamari, a teenage girl allegedly committed suicide on Monday in Dimla upazila, reports our correspondent.
Local sources said Ratna Aktar,13, daughter of Abdur Rahman of Gayabari village of Dimla upazila was a student of Class Six at Gayabari School and College.
At noon on Monday, she wanted some money from his elder brother to buy bangles for her. But her brother refused and rebuked her saying that it was an wastage.
At this, the girl became shocked and took poison in the evening, locals said.
