2 schoolboys killed after abduction

Police in Faridpur and Netrakona recovered decomposed bodies of two allegedly abducted schoolboys yesterday and the day before. Modhukhali police in Faridpur yesterday recovered the decomposed body of Faisal, 11, from a septic tank behind the Dumain union health and family welfare centre under the upazila after one month of abduction. Faisal was a student of class four at Dumain Govt Primary School in Modhukhali and son of the freedom fighter Sheikh Abdus Sattar of Dumain village, reports our correspondent. Syed Mohsinul Haque, officer in-charge of Modhukhali police station said, a team recovered the body of Faisal from a septic tank. The body was found inside a sack. Faisal was killed after abduction and later dropped into the septic tank by the criminals, the OC said. Family source sad, Faisal was abducted on 15 April from a playground adjacent to his house. A case was filed with Modhukhali police station the next day. Later police held two suspects Jahangir Alam Palash and Murad and sent them to jail. In last one month, locals formed several human chains, staged token hunger strike, held processions demanding rescue of Faisal, but to no effect. In Netrakona, police recovered the decomposed body of schoolboy Mahfujur Rahman Himel, 14, from Kuarpur village under Kalmakanda upazila on Saturday, seven days into his abduction. Himel was son of Mahbubur Rahman of Kuarpur village, reports our correspondent. Police and local people said two unknown criminals, riding a motorbike reached in front of Himel's house at around 6.30pm on May 7 and picked the boy from there. Himel's father Mahbubur Rahman filed a general diary (GD) with Kalmakanda police station the same night. Locals found the decomposed body of Himel in a paddy field of the village at around 12.30pm and informed the police. Police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital for autopsy. Contacted, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kalmakanda police station Khan Humayun Kabir said they will unearth the clue to the murder as early as possible.
