Man held on charge of violating schoolgirl
A man was arrested in Damurhuda upazila on Tuesday night on charge of violating a schoolgirl.
Police said Amirul Islam, 34, son of Ansar Ali member of Natun Hauli village in the upazila tactfully took the 13-year-old girl of a poor farmer at Bridgepara to a nearby poultry farm while she was standing near her house in the evening.
The culprit then raped the girl, a class VII student of a local high school.
The victim's family informed police after the victim told the matter to her family the same night.
Police arrested the alleged rapist the same night. The accused admitted his guilt, police said.
Munshi Asaduzzaman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of local PS, said that the girl on Wednesday morning filed a case against Amirul under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Police later took the girl to safe custody for medical test.
