Prime suspect in Dr Baqui killing case arrested

Police on Tuesday night arrested one of alleged killers of Dr Baqui Mirza, acting resident medical officer (RMO) of Sirajganj General Hospital. A team of Sirajganj police, with the help of detective branch of police, arrested Ruhul Amin Babu, a prime suspect, from Jirani Bazar area of Gazipur. Police also recovered the mobile phone of Dr Baqui from his possession, added SI Monirul Islam of Sadar police station. Babu was placed before the journalists here yesterday where he confessed to his crime saying that he along with two others killed Dr Baqui over a previous feud. Earlier, on April 16, police recovered the body of Dr Baqui from a room of a government dormitory. Although police could not immediately say the motive behind the killing but on that day they arrested Esha, a girl student of Ullahpara Hamida Pilot Girls' School and distant cousin of Dr Mirza in this connection and placed her on remand. On the basis of her statement, police on Tuesday night arrested her husband Babu from Jirani Bazar area of Gazipur district.
