Ruta polls tomorrow
Election of the 15-member executive committee of Rajshahi University Teachers Association (Ruta) will be held tomorrow.
The EC comprises five secretariat and ten executive member posts.
Administration sources said pro-Awami League teachers including RU Progressive Teachers Society (PTS) will contest in the poll through Yellow Panel while pro-BNP-Jamaat alliance through White Panel.
Besides, a faction of BNP teachers would contest through Golden Panel.
The Yellow Panel candidates for the posts of president and general secretary are Prof Dr Musfiq Ahmed of Geology and Mining department and Prof Sadekul Arefin Matin of Social Work department.
Prof Dr ABM Shahjahan of Islamic History and Culture department and Prof M Sahed Zaman of Chemistry department will vie for posts of president and general secretary from White Panel while Prof Nazrul Islam Mia of Political Science department and Prof Khandaker Imamul Haque of Geology and Mining department will contest for the posts from Golden Panel.
