Filling station employees fined, jailed
A mobile court fined and jailed three employees of a filling station in Boalmari upazila Sadar here on Monday night.
Acting on a tip-off, a mobile court led by magistrate Sabir Iqbal conducted a drive at Nahar Filling Station and fined manager Arup Chakrabarty Tk 10,000 and assistant manager Selim Mia Tk 5,000 for mixing diesel with petrol.
The court sentenced Arup to one year jail term while Selim to 6 months and peon Miraz Mia to 3 months.
Later, the filling station was also sealed off by the mobile court on charge of mixing 100 liters of diesel with 3,000 liters of petrol.
