Two sisters drown in Bagerhat
Two sisters drowned in a pond in the Lake Colony area of Bagerhat town yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Mita Rani Saha, 9, and Laxmi Rani Saha, 5.
Lima Rani Saha, elder sister of the deceased, said she along with her two sisters had a programme to visit a temple in the afternoon.
At around 11:00am, Lima went to take her bath, leaving Mita and Laxmi in a room of their house. After taking bath, she came back and found her sisters missing.
Later, family members along with their neighbours conducted a search operation in a pond at nearby Mohitosh Dham and found the bodies near stairs of the pond.
Daughter of Kala Chand Saha, Mita and Laxmi were cremated at the central cremation ground in the town.
