Four highway robbers held
Police arrested four highway robbers from a bus at Gouripur in Daudkandi upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway early yesterday.
Police said a gang of robbers got into the Comilla bound bus in the guise of passengers after the bus left Dhaka at about 12:15 am.
As the bus reached Bhaverchar in Munsiganj district the robbers began to loot valuables from the passengers. They stabbed eight passengers as they tried to resist them.
Hearing the scream of the passengers highway police chased the bus.
Later police halted the bus at Gouripur at about 1:30 am and arrested four of the gang members.
