Barbaric!
Criminals on Friday night raped a housewife and poured acid in her vaginal passage.
The brutal incident occurred at about 9:30pm at village Chhanka in Sadar upazila. Although the neighbours rescued and admitted her to Satkhira Sadar Hospital, she is now fighting for life there, hospital sources said.
Quoting locals police said, the victim was sitting on her verandah.
As her husband was not at home, the criminals all of a sudden tied her mouth with a piece of cloth and took her to a nearby jute field. There they raped her by turn and while leaving the scene they poured acid in her vagina inflicting serious burn injuries, police said.
Hearing screaming of the victim, villagers rescued and admitted her to Satkhira Sadar Hospital, in a critical condition.
Contacted, Dr Madhusudan Mondal, residential medical officer (RMO) of the hospital said they are yet to ascertain the type of the acid.
Victim's mother Farida Begum filed a case with Sadar police station accusing four people.
