Two drug smugglers arrested
Police arrested a drug smuggler along with 45 yaba tablets at Dharmanagar-Tripura frontier in Akhaura upazila on Tuesday.
The arrestee is Fancy Nantu, 33, of Monianda union of the upazila.
During interrogation, Nantu told police that he along with local drug peddlers Amrita, Ruhul Amin, Foyzul and Faruq had been engaged in smuggling illegal drugs from India since long.
Another report from Comilla adds: BDR personnel arrested a smuggler with 50 bottles of phensidyl syrup in Birain area of Sadar South upazila on Wednesday.
The arrestee is Abdul Malek of the upazila. Acting on a tip-off, BDR men raided the area and arrested Malek with the sedative drugs.
A case was filed against him under Narcotics Control Act.
