Schoolgirl, women rescued
A schoolgirl, abducted from Palashbari upazila on Monday, were rescued 12 hours into her abduction from Maderganj area in Pirganj upazila.
Police also arrested one of the abductors named Anwar Hossain and brought him to Palashbari Police Station.
Anwar and his two accomplices picked up the class nine student of Kunjamahipur High School from Modhipur village under Palashbari upazila on her way to a coaching center at the village at around 8:00am.
Immediately after the incident, victim's father filed a case with Palashbari Police Station accusing Anwar Hossain, Asadul and Miru Mia of Modhipur village of kidnapping his daughter.
Police launched a drive and rescued the girl from Maderganj in Pirganj upazila at around 8:00pm on Monday. They also arrested Anwar while the rest two fled the scene.
Our Dinajpur correspondent reported that police arrested a gang of three who tried to deceive a college girl in the name of giving a job in Birganj upazila of Dinajpur on Monday.
The arrestees are Md Shukur Ali, 24, son of Afaz Ali, Md Shahin, 22, son of Jamal Uddin, and Shah Jamal, 26, son of Abdul Kader of Laxminarayan village under Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh district.
Police quoted family sources as saying that Dipen Master, 35, of Shatagram village had earlier assured Amina Khatun, daughter of Tahiz Uddin of the same village of giving her a job. On Sunday, Amina met Dipen Master who introduced her to Dalu, 25, of the village.
Dalu took Amina to one Shukur at Dashmailmore under Kaharol upazila the same day. Shukar and two other arrestees took Amina to Aftabganj in Nawabganj upazila in a bus.
Sensing trouble, Amina cried for help at bus Stand. Hearing scream, locals rushed to the spot and rescued her. They also caught the three and handed them over to Nawabganj police.
