13 Shibir men held with arms, books on <i>jihad</i>
Thirteen activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir were arrested with arms and books on jihad at a madrasa hostel in Narsingdi town early yesterday.
The arrestees are Tawhidul Islam alias Tareq, 22, Jahirul Islam, 22, Faruk, 21,Fazal Mahmud, 18, Jahirul Islam, 20, Forkan Hossain, 19, Asadul Haque, 23, Jahid Hasan,18, Omar Faruk, 24, Aminul Islam, 22, Anisuzzaman, 18, Bahauddin, 20 and Morshed Alam, 21.
Police said they arrested the shibir activists at the dormitory of Gabtoli Jameya Kashmia Madrasa where they (Shibir) were holding a 'secret' meeting at around 1:30am and seized a shutter gun, four cartridges, five sharp weapons, nine compact disks and some books on jihad from their possession.
