Old man murdered
A sexagenarian was killed by his rivals over land dispute at Chharigram village in Bahubal upazila yesterday morning. The dead was Katu Mia, 60, of the village. Locals said, there had been a longstanding dispute between Katu Mia and Rahimullh of the village over a piece of land. As a sequel to the dispute an altercation ensued between them and later both the groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other leaving Katu Mia dead on the spot and injuring five others. Of the injured, Ali Mia, 30, was son of Katu Mia and he was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition while others were admitted to Bahubal upazila health complex.
