RU celebrates 57th founding anniversary

The 57th founding anniversary of Rajshahi University (RU) was celebrated on the campus yesterday with much enthusiasm and due festivity. The day started with hoisting of national and university flags atop the administrative building, central library, vice-chancellor's office and students' dormitories. Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid and vice chancellor (VC) Prof Abdus Sobhan jointly inaugurated the programme at Shabash Bangladesh Square on the campus by releasing pigeons and balloons amid cheering of thousands of teachers and students. Later, they placed wreaths at the shaheed minar, university mass grave and grave of Shaheed Prof Shamsuzoha.
