A court here yesterday acquitted all the three accused in the sensational schoolboy Touhidul Islam murder case in Kaliganj upazila. Judge Sharifuddin Azad of the additional district and session judge's court no-1 acquitted the accused as the prosecution failed to prove the charges brought against them. Earlier the court heard the arguments by state and defence lawyers on June 24 and fixed the date for announcement of the verdict in the case yesterday. The acquitted three are Rajab Ali, 40, son of Mobarak Ali Gazi and his wife Jahanara Begum, 32, of village Bishnupur and Abdul Hamid Bacha, 15, son of Neda Sardar of village Fatehpur.
