Rivals kill notorious criminal
A notorious criminal was killed by his rivals at Shiordaha Bazaar in Jhikargachha upazila on Sunday night.
The dead was identified as Arab Ali alias Kosai Arab, son of Rakam Ali of Laksmanpur village of nearby frontier Sharsha upazila.
Police quoting villagers said Arab Ali was hiding at a village in Jhikargachha after murdering Jubo League leader Ratan of Sharsha upazila.
Locals said his rivals caught him from the bazaar at about 12:00 midnight and stabbed him to death. On information police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Officer-in-charge of Sharsha police station Enamul Haque said, Arab Ali was wanted in a number of murder and other criminal cases.
Another report from Magura adds: Police recovered the body of a listed criminal at Molladangi village in Sripur upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Subrata Sarkar, 23, son of Bimal Sarkar, of the same village. Police said he was wanted in a number of criminal cases.
Police said his rivals strangled him and dumped the body in a nearby jute field on Saturday night.
Police sent the body to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy early Sunday morning.
