Indefinite transport strike threatened
Transport owners and workers of 21 southwestern districts have threatened to go on an indefinite strike from tomorrow if their 16-point demand is not met by today.
Transport owners-workers unity council announced their action plan at a press conference at Bagerhat press club on Monday.
Their 16-point demand include ban on plying of various kinds of human haulers like Nasimon, Kariman and Bhatbhati, stopping BRTC bus service on Barisal-Keorakandi route, cancellation of the approval of Naria bus owners' association, handing over of buses to owners after they are damaged in road accidents, stoppage of illegal toll collection, compensation for damages done to requisitioned vehicles etc.
