BCC to name 7 city roads after FFs, noted persons
Barisal City Corporation (BCC) authorities have decided to name seven city roads after seven freedom fighters and noted persons of the city.
Besides, the BCC will build an old home, two 10-storied super and new markets, 10 public toilets, expand BCC Bhaban and Nathullabad central bus terminal, implement road, culvert, and drainage development project on priority basis and give reception to GPA -5 holders in last SSC and HSC examinations.
BCC Mayor Advocate Shawkat Hossain Hiron on Friday disclosed the decisions approved in the fourth general meeting of the BCC held at its auditorium on Thursday.
As per the decisions, the Kawnia branch road would be named after women rights activists Manorama Bose Masima while Kawnia main road after 'Biplobi' Deben Ghose, Police Hospital-Polytechnic-Choitannya School road after freedom fighter Mohiuddin Ahmed, Marak Khola-BM College-Nathullabad bus terminal road after former education minister
Principal Yunus Khan, Nabogram intersection to Bhangarpul road after freedom fighter Sardar Jalaluddin, Nuria School to Kalu Shah road after freedom fighter Obaidur Rahman Mustafa and Sonali Ice Cream-Amanganj-Saistabad road would be named after freedom fighter Sirajul Islam Manik.
