2 jailed for keeping phensidyl
A court here on Wednesday sentenced two people to two years imprisonment each for possessing Indian phensidyl syrup.
The convicts are identified as Rustam Ali and Belal Hossain of Rangiarpota village in Sadar upazila. Belal was tried in absentia.
The court also fined them Tk 1,000 each, in default, to suffer one months more in jail.
According to the prosecution, Rab in a raid on January 6, 2008 caught red-handed Belal Hossain along with 44 bottles of phensidyl syrup from his residence while his accomplice Rustam managed to flee.
