Man poisons daughter, commits suicide
A young man allegedly poisoned to death his 7-year-old daughter on Saturday night and then killed himself.
At around d 9:00pm Matiar Rahman Moti, 30, poisoned his daughter Mathin at Dharampur Ziladar Para in the town.
Police said goldsmith Moti's wife Sultana, 22, eloped with neighbour Nazmul about 3-4 months ago after an extra-marital affair for several months. Police suspect Moti killed his daughter thinking that Mathin was an illegitimate child.
On the fateful night, a shocked Moti mixed poison with oral saline and asked his daughter to drink it. Later, he also took it and both fell seriously ill.
They were rushed to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital where they died around 10:30 at night.
Two UD cases were filed.
