Smuggled fertiliser seized
Members of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) seized a truck-load of spurious potash fertiliser from Raghunathpur border yesterday morning. Acting on a tip-off, a BDR team intercepted the Jessore-bound truck at Raghunathpur and recovered 200 sacks of adulterated fertiliser while being smuggled into the country. Truck driver Shariful was also arrested in this connection. The seized goods were later deposited with the local Customs authorities. A case has been filed with Benapole port police station.
