Lima Murder
2 sent to jail, one freed on bail
The second court of Women and Children Repression Prevention Court yesterday sent two accused in Rajshahi University (RU) student Lima Parvin murder case to jail upon their surrender.
The two accused are Lima's father-in-law Abdul Malek and mother-in-law Anjuara Begum. The court, however, released another accused Lima's husband Anisur Rahman on bail.
A student of management department of Rajshahi University, Lima was allegedly tortured and later murdered at her in-laws' house at Jagirpara of Puthia upazila on June 10, 2009.
The court issued arrest warrants against the three accused after a judicial probe found their involvement in the murder allegedly for dowry.
Lima's father Taslim Uddin lodged the case and Rajshahi University unit of Bangladesh Mohila Parishad is looking after the case.
