Touchstone statue recovered
Police on Friday recovered a touchstone statue worth Tk 1 crore from Kanaikashindi village in Dhamoirhat upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by ASP Mahiul Islam raided the village and recovered the 10-kg statue found in an abandoned state.
Police sources said, day labourers found the precious statue while digging ground at the village a few days ago.
They tried to sell it at a cheap price but in vain. Later, police deposited the seized statue at the local Customs office.
