Nine shops gutted in Jamalpur
At least nine shops were gutted in a devastating fire at Bhatara Bazaar in Sarishabari upazila on Wednesday afternoon. Fire brigade sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a shop at about 4:00pm and soon engulfed the adjoining shops. On information, fire fighters from Sadar and Sarishabari fire stations rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze with the help of locals after two hours of frantic efforts.
