Narayanganj Mayor Ivy takes Covid-19 vaccine

Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy received Covid-19 vaccine at Narayanganj General Hospital today.

After taking vaccine around 12:30pm, Ivy said, "I took the Covid-19 vaccine and I request all citizens under Narayanganj City Corporation area to come and take the vaccine. There is nothing to be concerned about."

"Take the vaccine, save yourselves and others," she said.

She also called upon people to wear masks and maintain health guidelines, reports our Narayanganj correspondent.

Around 11:00am, Ivy's family members -- mother Momtaz Begum, younger brother and Jubo League Secretary of Narayanganj town unit Ahmmed Ali Reza Uzzal and his wife Roma Begum -- took the vaccine.

Around 12,000 people have been inoculated at six vaccination centres of Narayanganj so far and everyone is fine, the district's Civil Surgeon Mohammad Imtiaz told The Daily Star.
