Moulvibazar AL leader dies of coronavirus
A Moulvibazar Awami League leader, who died at a hospital in Dhaka on Monday, was found to have been infected with coronavirus.
He died with fever, cold and cough at United Hospital in Dhaka on Monday evening, according to an associate.
And death, his samples were sent to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) for testing, Dr Tawhid Ahmed, civil surgeon of Moulvibazar said this morning.
The results came back positive yesterday noon, the civil surgeon confirmed to our Moulvibazar correspondent after IEDCR informed him unofficially.
Moulvibazar district was put under lockdown for an indefinite period from Monday to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
The district administration made the announcement following the recommendation of the local committee on coronavirus prevention, according to a notice signed by Nazia Shirin, deputy commissioner of Moulvibazar.
