Major (retd) Sinha killing: Rab takes 3 prime accused to Shamlapur check post

Three prime accused of Major (retd) Sinha murder case were taken to Shamlapur police check post on Marine Drive in Teaknaf, where the killing took place.

Rapid Action Battalion took the trio -- suspended officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das, inspector Liaqat Ali and Sub-inspector Nandadulal Rakhshit -- to the spot from Rab-15 office under strict surveillance around 1pm, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent.

Rab's investigation officer of the case, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Khayrul Islam, Director of Legal and Media wing Lt Col Ashik Billah, Director of Intelligence wing Lt Col Md Sarwar-Bin-Quasem and others were present at the spot.

"The prime accused of the case are being taken to the spot of the incident as part of the investigation," said Additional Director General of Rab Col Tofayel Mustafa Sorwar while talking to journalists around 12:10pm.

However, when asked about the findings of the investigation so far, the ADG said that revealing such information might hamper the investigation.

"We are analysing every second of the two minutes within which the shooting took place," he said, adding that the investigation will be done in a way so that the guilty cannot be spared and no innocent can be harmed.
