Madrasa teacher arrested for raping 7-year-old in Benapole

Police have arrested a madrasa teacher for allegedly raping a seven-year-old in Benopole, Jashore today.

The child was sent to Jashore General Hospital for treatment, our Benapole correspondent reports.

The child attended her class at Bhaberber Madrasa around 9:00am today, according to her father.

When she returned home, she was crying and disclosed the matter to her mother, her father said.

Her father lodged a complaint with Benapole Land Port Police Station, Mamun Khan, officer-in-charge of the police station, said.

Police then interrogated four teachers of the madrasa at the police station, he added.

The victim later identified Salman Farsi, one of the four teachers, when the law enforcers showed her photos of the four persons, the police official said.

Police arrested Salman and released the others.

After the arrest, a case was registered with the police station in connection with the incident.
