House of Verona: haven for classy knick knacks

Your home is a reflection of your personality: it is your story. Decorating it with the right pieces go a long way into expressing who
you are.

House of Verona is a place that gives a very vintage feel that comes along with its name. It is the newest home décor store in town, situated in Banani, and the place exhibits pieces that are exclusive and bound to lighten up your home.

The name itself is very catchy and just draws you in to explore. The inspiration came from the classic Shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet, the play of love and emotion being the central theme. The left side wall upon the entrance boasts a monologue from the play, setting the Elizabethan feel of the store.

It is a one-stop shop for buying presents, where cards and gift items are available under the same roof. They have a separate section for Hallmark cards, which boasts cards for every possible occasion and relation. Stuffed toys of various cartoon characters and other animated characters are also available

However, the shop mainly has home décor items, collectibles that stand out. They have a wide range of candle stands varying from candlesticks to candleholders to candelabra, which are perfect for the dining table or side table. The colour and the shapes vary along with design, but they are very unique pieces ideal for lighting up a corner of your room.

Other decorating items include table lamps, with various shades and designs on them, providing a wide range for customers. There are towel sets of different sizes, pillows, table runners and napkins of different of prints and colours.

The showpieces like the centrepiece for tables, or little jewellery or trinket boxes are available for purchase too. There are also items like mugs, wall hangings, and vases of varying sizes available. The products are not conventional, yet give a very sophisticated look to your home.

The store boasts a range of very elegant wooden decorative boxes, in different shapes and sizes, with floral prints of various combinations done on them. They are very cute little pieces, ranging from jewellery boxes in the shape of a dressing table to tissue box covers to glass mats to newspaper and book holders. They are simple yet elegant pieces and can be a great addition for your home.

House of Verona is the brain-child of Andaleeb Ameen and Aamir Hossain, however, the store is still in the process of creating its niche. Having very recently launched at the end of March this year, they have a very set goal of making it a vintage themed store.

Andaleeb Ameen mentioned how important the concepts of emotions and feelings are to him, the value of cards and his fondness of the vintage era which they tried to portray through the name and the setting of their products.

They have further plans of creating a coffee corner with a book nook, where clients can just come, shop around, indulge is some good coffee and quality books. Though this plan has not yet been implemented, they are in talks with associated parties to make it happen.

Being a home décor store, they have no plans to bring in mainstream furniture into their product range, but they do indulge in customised side tables and console tables. House of Verona has already sold some pieces and has plans to bring in more. Their vision is of making it a treasure hunt sort of store, where you can just walk in, explore and discover things to buy. This is what will make this store unique. It has that aim of giving the customers that ultimate shopping experience which is not found often in Dhaka stores.

If you want to look at some unconventional ornaments for your home, then a visit to House of Verona this season is a must. The products they have are very tasteful, sophisticated and will surely be a catch.
