What this week's tarot cards say about your life

Life might be complicated, but certain tools can give you a sense of control and comfort. It might be your drive and resolve itself; sometimes it can be something literally mystical. That’s our Tarot!

We will be using our Raider-Waite-Smith Tarot deck and discerning from 78 cards what this week holds for you, dear readers. This draw has specifically been procured for The Daily Star readers and anyone else who stumbled upon this read.

This is a five-card Tarot draw, picked specifically according to classical planetary occultism on the day of Sol (the Sun), in its threshold hour, so that it may show the significances of your life.

Let’s begin.

Here’s how this works:

First Card- Theme of the week: This is the overarching energy of your upcoming seven days.

Second Card- The challenge of the week: an upcoming trial you might face.

Third Card- A hidden opportunity you might receive.

Fourth Card- Where to focus your consciousness.

Lastly, Fifth One- The subconscious energy running beneath this week.

Elements of This Week

Before we talk about the Tarot, you will soon notice that we have three Pentacles cards, earth upon earth upon earth, and two Wands, the fire cards that anchor the earth!

This is a week where grounded and surreal reality, be it career, money, body, or routine, is under duress from restless and competitive fire energy, trying to break into it. Earth demands stability, and fire desires movement and confrontation. This very dynamic is the weather of your week, and we shall navigate it successfully.

Astrologically, we are moving through the thicket of the Cancer period, with the Sun approaching its opposition to Capricorn’s ruling energy. This means we need to take care of the responsibilities we have, and nurture and be faithful towards them consciously.

First Card: The King of Pentacles (Reversed)

This is our theme of the week; it’s a mastery card. But reversed, this week’s dominant theme is one of material stubbornness, control that’s misplaced, or resources mismanaged. There’s a warning for greed, against working purely for the benefit of appearance or security rather than depth, and against becoming so enamoured with the idea of being the “Provider” or “Responsible one” that you forget that flexibility exists.

Advice: Be relaxed, do not take the load of others when they are there to carry it themselves.

Second Card: The Knight of Pentacles (Upright)

The challenge of the week is, fittingly, of the earth element. But this one is upright, and that will play a part. The Knight of Pentacles is the most steady, duty-bound, and methodical of cards. This screams Taurus decan energy, all clockwork, sometimes to a fault.

The burden of this week is the temptation, or the need, to slow down and do the repetitive, unglamorous work when part of you wants to do the unorthodox. You might face someone or something that’s frustratingly cautious; your test is to keep pace with them.

Advice: Be patient with those who are around you, especially in your work life.

Third Card: The Ten of Wands (Reversed)

Now, we are somewhere you will definitely want to be. Here’s where this week turns kind and shows you the benefits you could receive. The Ten of Wands reversed shows that whatever burdens you have been carrying can finally be released.

The hidden blessing this week is that you finally have the opportunity to set something down. This can be giving a task to someone that you have been white-knuckling, at last saying no to a duty, or simply recognising the fact that the weight of a habit you have been carrying was never yours to bear.

Advice: Graciously accept the help or benefit you’re given; maybe expect an unexpected cancellation.

Fourth Card: The Five of Wands (Upright)

This card is Mars in Leo, a playful energy. This week, deliberately lean into constructive disagreements rather than bypassing them. If you see a challenge, be it in the workplace or social life, take charge and engage accordingly, for fortune favours the bold.

Advice: Take the courage to spar and spread your wings. Show both professional patience and the willingness for a useful clash.

Fourth Card: The Two of Pentacles (Upright)

This card showcases Jupiter in Capricorn, but not in its usual transit. When this card is reversed, there’s a threat that this juggler is about to lose his balance. You yourself, at the end of the week, might feel disorganised, have too many things to look after, and/or experience the feeling of being financially or emotionally overextended.

The panacea is not more effort, never, but rather prioritising. When this card is on a spread, it's a signal to let something go for a while and balance the burden that you can successfully juggle.

Advice: Let go of a few things and direct your focus onto a single thing or a select few areas. Not many.
