While those who can buy gas cylinders, kerosene stoves, electric rice-cookers or induction cookers, the rest have to either wait for hours for the gas supply or use earthen stoves. Not only household consumers, commercial and industrial users are also not receiving sufficient gas supply to run their establishments. Some hotels and restaurants are also facing this problem; moreover, if they use other alternatives like gas cylinders or electronic ovens, the cost of meals available there inevitably increases. CNG-filling stations are also bearing the brunt of the ongoing gas crisis, as low pressure of gas supply is forcing them to shut down stations during a large portion of the day. The current situation has largely affected business transaction leading to huge losses. But the authorities concerned are yet to show their concern over this matter. Customers also complain that the price of gas has increased from Tk. 400 for double burners to Tk. 650. But they are still forced to face this crisis.
