“We've turned education into business. Dhaka University is a revered institution. But the esteemed teachers of this institution are more interested in taking classes in private universities.”

That's because the teachers are not well-paid and they have to worry about raising a family.

It's just greed. How can we say that university teachers are “not well-paid” when the government provides them with housing and other lucrative facilities? The government even pays for their higher education and training abroad. Their children also get benefits such as quota in DU.

They may not be well paid. But does that give them the right to teach at private universities when they are supposed to take classes in their own classrooms?

There should be a regulatory body to make sure that teachers are actually teaching when they are supposed to.
Tarun Ghosh
Teachers should be well-paid and provided with other facilities.
