What connectivity? It's connectivity for India and certainly not for Bangladesh. We have been hearing for a long time now about the multi-state or regional connectivity. But this transit/corridor is not multilateral connectivity at all. It only serves India's purposes. Multilateral connectivity and giving away the corridor to India are two different things.

Jamaat is by far one of the most die-hard political parties in Bangladesh. Going against or maintaining an alliance cannot be an issue in this agenda. The word 'requirement' should be used instead. Jamaat is the duck which lays golden eggs and no one wants to give away its possession.
