Act responsibly

From newspaper reports, we learned that a deal is going on with an Indian company to build a power plant in Bhola Island while the government continues to award power project contracts on the basis of unsolicited negotiations under the Special Act for Speedy Supply of Power and Energy.

Construction of power plants is necessary to meet the ever increasing demand for power. But the government must also take into consideration the 
impacts of these power plants on the environment.
