Latif's remarks on hajj draw flak

Seems like the minister is by no means a practicing Muslim, otherwise he would have known that hajj is mandatory on all Muslims who are capable of performing it. With such a mentality, he should not be holding the post of a minister.

Every religion has put emphasis on religious pilgrimage. I am a non-Muslim born in Bangladesh. When I was going to India for my religious pilgrimage, I heard many negative comments from our Muslims brothers while crossing the border. One of these comments was exactly like what Latif Siddique has said about Hajj.

Muslims are taught not to disrespect people of other religions. Therefore, I am sorry to hear what happened to Sumon. And I commend him for being tolerant.
