HC fixes Oct 18 to pass order on writ petition against Wasa’s reappointment of MD

The High Court has fixed October 18 to pass an order on a writ petition filed challenging the legality of the process for further appointing Taqsem A Khan as the managing director of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa).

The HC bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam today fixed the date for passing an order on the writ petition after concluding hearing on the matter.

Engineer Khandker Monjur Morshed, former additional chief engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board, filed the writ petition with the High Court on September 24, challenging the legality of the process for reappointing Taqsem A Khan to the post of the managing director of Wasa.

In the petition, he prayed to the HC to stay the proposal for extending the tenure of Taqsem A Khan as Wasa MD by three more years.
