Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi off to India for treatment

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and lawmaker from Gaibandha-5, Md Fazle Rabbi Miah, was flown to India today for treatment due to post-operation related complications and medical check-up.

Deputy Speaker's personal assistant, Fazlul Haque, said that the Deputy Speaker had a tumor removed from his stomach at a Dhaka hospital in June. The tumor was removed, but he has been dealing with a variety of post-surgery complications.

He will be admitted to a hospital in Mumbai for treatment, sources at the parliament secretariat said.
