Covid-19 vaccination: Government considering lowering age bar from 40 to 35

The government is considering lowering the age bar from 40 years to 35, to include more people in the vaccination campaign.

ABM Khurshid Alam, director general of Directorate General of Health Services, told journalists that they have sent a proposal in this regard to the health ministry.

The DG of health directorate said they received a list of 1.45 lakh students through University Grants Commission and the list was sent to the ICT Division for vaccine registration.

He said currently people under three categories are able to register on the app but within a few days it will be open to all categories.

He said the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine will be administered soon and the priority groups will get the vaccine. "Those who have already registered will get the vaccine."

Saying that administering the Moderna vaccine is likely to start within 10 days, the DG said if anyone wants to take the vaccine he/she has to register in the city corporation area.
