27 die in Covid-19 units at 4 Khulna hospitals in 24 hours

Twenty-seven people died in Covid-19 units at four Khulna hospitals in 24 hours till 8am today.

"Eleven people died at the Khulna Medical College Hospital in 24 hours. Of them, seven were Covid-19 positive and the rest had coronavirus-like symptoms," said Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar, in-charge of the hospital's Covid-19 unit.

"Till 8 am today, 46 people were newly admitted and 39 people returned after recovering," our Khulna correspondent reports quoting Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar.

Ten people died while undergoing treatment at Gazi Medical College Hospital. In 24 hours, 36 people were admitted to the hospital and 21 returned home healthy, said the hospital owner Gazi Mizanur Rahman.

Five died at the Khulna General Hospital during the same period while 23 were newly admitted and 16 recovered, said the hospital spokesman Dr Kazi Abu Rashed.

Meanwhile, one patient died at the Covid-19 unit of Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialised Hospital while five got admitted and three recovered, said Dr Prakash Chandra Debnath of the hospital.
